Chinese woman, first case of nCoV, discharged: DOH

A 38-year-old Chinese woman, the first confirmed case of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in the Philippines, has recovered and discharged from San Lazaro Hospital.

In a press conference Monday, Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo said the woman was discharged last Saturday. 

"The first confirmed case has recovered, tested negative of the 2019-nCoV twice already, and has been discharged last Saturday," said Domingo. 

The Chinese woman from Wuhan, China was admitted at San Lazaro last January 25 after experiencing mild cough.

She arrived in Cebu via Hong Kong last January 21. She also went to Dumaguete City before heading to Manila. 

She was accompanied by her 44-year-old Chinese male partner, who also tested positive for the 2019-nCoV, and died at San Lazaro Hospital.  

A 60-year-old Chinese woman became the third confirmed 2019-nCoV case in the country. She was found positive after she was previously found negative of the virus and has been discharged from the hospital. 

The number of persons under investigation (PUIs) continues to rise.

According to Domingo, there are now a total of 314 PUIs in the country. 

"Almost all regions have reported at least one person under investigation," said Domingo. 

As for those with negative or pending results, a total of 261 remain admitted in hospitals, 48 have been discharged, while two died. 

Currently, the DOH said 3 have already tested positive of the 2019-nCoV, 109 were found negative, while 202 others are still awaiting results of the tests. DMS
