A Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC) in Quezon City on Friday ordered the arrest of former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and nine others after the Department of Justice charged them with conspiracy to commit sedition in connection with their role in the alleged plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte.
In a resolution, Judge Kristine Grace Suarez of Quezon City MeTC, Branch 138, also ordered the arrest of Peter Joemel “Bikoy” Advincula, Fr. Flaviano Villanueva, Fr. Albert Alejo, Boom Enriquez, Yoly Ong-Villanueva, Jonnell Sanggalang, JM Saracho, Eduardo Acierto, Vicente Romano and a certain “Monique.”
Bail was set at P10,000 each of the accused for their temporary liberty.
Trillanes said he will post bail when he returns to the country next week. Advincula is in a safe house.
The Quezon City court set the arraignment of the accused on March 17.
The case against Triallanes and others came from the testimony of Advincula, who claimed he was alias Bikoy, the hooded narrator in the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos, that opposition leaders plotted to discredit Duterte and his allies by linking his family to the illegal drugs.
Advincula alleged that the videos were part of the plot to oust the President.
Government prosecutors cleared other opposition leaders, including President Leni Robredo, Senators Leila de Lima and Risa Hontiveros, and former Senator Bam Aquino of charges. DMS
