COVID-19 deaths now 18, cases reach 230: DOH

A 65-year-old male from Quezon City who had a travel history to Singapore is the 18th death in the Philippines due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Department of Health (DOH) said
He expired last March 17, 2020 at the St. Luke's Medical Center. two days after he was confirmed to have COVID-19.
The DOH reported 13 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 230.
Meanwhile, from an initial number of two hospitals, the Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City will also be dedicating one of its wings to handling coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients.
"The Lung Center of the Philippines shall likewise dedicate one wing with 40 beds for COVID-19 patients," said the DOH.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III has already announced that they are looking to convert the Philippine General Hospital in Manila and the Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital in Caloocan City as exclusive COVID-19 facilities. DMS
