Davao del Sur Governor Douglas Cagas on Monday appealed for aid following a magnitude 6.9 quake that jolted the province on Sunday.
In an interview over ANC, Cagas sought more tents and other necessities for the evacuees from affected areas.
"We have more than 28 functioning evacuation centers in the entire province of Davao del Sur. We need more tents. We need drinking water. Of course, we'll need food later on," he said.
The quake left at least four dead and caused damage to several establishments.
Cagas also mentioned that several government and non-government organization have extended help but they expect to need more assistance due to possibility of having more quakes in the province.
"We are doing our best. The national government also continues to provide us (assistance). There are so many good people, good citizens, giving us assistance," said Cagas.
"But of course, if (the earthquakes) will not end in two or three months, we'll need more assistance from our partners," he added. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
