June 27, 2019
Captain Richard David assumed as his post as the new head of the Philippine Navy's Fleet Marine Warfare Center (FMWC) in Taguig City.
Capt. Jonathan Zata, Philippine Navy spokesman, said the turnover of command ceremony was held at the Acero Hall, Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown, Naval Station Jose Francicso last Monday.
"Captain David replaced Colonel Francisco Domingo Fernandez, a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 91, who will consequently be assuming his new post at the Command Center of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City," he said.
Fernandez assumed the post as the third commander of FMWC Center in September 2017.
Zata said the ceremony was presided by Rear Admiral Allan Ferdinand Cusi, Armed Forces of the Philippines, commander, Naval Education, Training and Doctrine Command (NETDC).
"In his remarks, RADM Cusi commended Col Fernandez for his exemplary
leadership and for leading the FMWC to where it is now, saying that incoming FMWC Commander Capt. David indeed 'had big shoes to fill'," he said.
"He however, doubly expressed his strong confidence in Capt. David, categorically stating that his credentials and good military accomplishments made him the best choice for the post," he added. Robina Asido/DMS
