Deaths from Monday quake up to 18: NDRRMC

The death toll from the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that hit the province of Zambales on Monday has reached 18, the National Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Friday.

NDRRMC said the number of injured victims rose to 282 while missing persons have gone down to seven.

The recorded number of affected population within 13 cities and municipalities in Central Luzon went up to 3,205 families or 14,901 individuals.

Those displaced by the quake being served inside six evacuation centers decreased to 909 families or 3,381 persons.

The number of damaged houses in the provinces of Bataan and Pampanga doubled to a total of 1,230, with 156 were destroyed and 1,074 were partially damaged.

The NDRRMC said damaged structures and building within Region III, NCR and in Calabarzon have reached to 334.

Estimated damage to schools, roads and bridges in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and NCR reached to a total of P505,920,000.

As of 4 am, NDRRMC said there were a total of 734 aftershocks of which only 10 were felt. Robina Asido/DMS
