Deaths from Monday’s 6.1 magnitude quake remain at 16: NDRRMC

The death toll from Monday's 6.1 magnitude earthquake that struck Castillejos, Zambales remains at 16, with 14 missing and 86 injured, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Wednesday. Hundreds of families were displaced because of the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that hit the province of Zambales on Monday. In its latest report, the NDRRMC said a total of 358 families or 1,938 persons were affected by the earthquake in seven municipalities of Central Luzon. It said that among the affected population, 245 families or 1,272 individuals were displaced and being served inside four evacuation centers. The NDRRMC also recorded a total of 67 houses were damaged in Bataan and Pampanga. It said 54 houses were destroyed while 13 were partially damaged. There were 80 damaged structures and buildings in Central Luzon and National Capital Region.
