DILG orders 12 towns, two cities in Batangas to enforce mandatory repatriation

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Wednesday ordered 12 towns and two cities in Batangas susceptible to Taal Volcano's unrest to enforce a mandatory evacuation.
In a memorandum, DILG provincial field office head Abigail Andres ordered local officials in the towns of Alitagtag, Balete, Cuenca, Laurel, Lemery, Mataasnakahoy, Sta. Teresita, San Nicolas, Taal, Malvar, Agoncillo and Talisay to immediately evacuate people.
Officials in the cities of Tanauan and Lipa were also ordered to conduct mandatory evacuation.
Andres said the 14 areas are susceptible to ballistic projectiles, base surges and volcanic tsunami which may be generated by the volcano. DMS
