DOH details latest 10 cases of COVID-19

Ten new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases were announced by the  Department of Health (DOH) Manila, raising the number of patients to 20.

In a Monday afternoon press conference, Assistant Health Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said;"All test results from the new cases were released today, after samples were collected last March 6, 7, and 8."  

The 11th patient is a 72-year-old Filipino male with no history of travel, who experienced symptoms of cough and is admitted at the Medical City. 

The 12th patient 12 is a 56-year-old Filipino male with travel history to the United Arab Emirates, who experienced symptoms of fever and cough. He is now at the Makati Medical Center. 

The 13th patient a 34-year-old Filipino male with travel history to Australia. He experienced symptoms of fever and is at the Makati Medical Center. 

The 14th patient is a 46-year-old Filipino male with no travel history. He  experienced symptoms of fever and cough and is at the Makati Medical Center. 

The 15th patient 15 is a 24-year-old Filipino male with still undetermined travel history. He experienced symptoms of cough and is at the Makati Medical Center. 

The 16th patient is a 70-year-old Filipino male with exposure to a known COVID-19 case. He experienced symptoms of cough, sore throat, and colds and is at Unihealth Parañaque Hospital. 

The 17th patient is a 69-year-old Filipino female with exposure to a known COVID-19 case. She showed ymptoms of cough and colds and is at the Unihealth Parañaque Hospital. 

The 18th patient is a 41-year-old Filipino male with travel history to Taiwan. He showed ced symptoms of fever, headache, and body malaise and is at the Tricity Medical Center. 

The 19th patient 19 is a 46-year-old Filipino female with no travel history. She experienced undetermined symptoms and is at the Tricity Medical Center. 

The 20th patient is a 48-year-old Filipino male with travel history to Japan. He experienced symptoms of cough and body malaise. He is admitted at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM). 

Vergeire said the rise in COVID-19 cases is due to ''intensified surveillance system.''

But she said there is no community transmission of COVID-19  in the Philippines so far. 

On Saturday, the DOH confirmed the presence of a local transmission in the Philippines after recording a positive case with no travel history.  DMS
