DOH reports 2,833 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) Wednesday reported 2,833 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total to 294, 591.
Active cases reached 58. 127 of which 86.5 percent are mild, the DOH said. Asymptomatic cases account for 9.2 percent, critical 3 percent and severe 1.3 percent.
The National Capital Region had 1,222 new cases followed by Cavite 228, Negros Occidental 206, Batangas 143 and Bulacan 141.
Forty-four persons have died from COVID-19, pushing total deaths to 5,091.
There are 765 persons who survived COVID-19, raising total recoveries to 231, 373. DMS
