DOLE urges firms to provide temporary shelter to workers
March 19, 2020
With several companies still operating despite the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is calling on these firms to consider giving their workers temporary shelters.
In a statement, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said: "For enterprises allowed to continue operations and whose skeletal workforce is needed at the workplace, a temporary housing provision can be considered."
"This is where initiatives from employers become important and necessary," he added.
Bello said employees won't have to be faced with the daily challenges of having to go to and from work. DMS
