Drug suspect arrested, millions of pesos worth of illegal drugs seized in Manila

A drug suspect was arrested while millions of pesos worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in a buy-bust operation in Manila on Friday morning.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Christian Bello alias Ian, 28, a resident of 2641 Intr. 33 Sampaguita Extension Sta. Ana.

Based on initial report, Bello was arrested by the elements of Manila Police District -Sta Ana Police Station during the buy-bust operation along Sampaguita Extension corner Eloriaga St., Sta. Ana Manila Brgy. 778, Zone 85, District 5 at about 5 am.

Police said the operation was a follow-up from the leads of the previously conducted anti illegal drug sting.

Police confiscated "one piece heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu and four knot tied transparent plastic sachets each containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu and five pieces of 1,000 peso bills used as buy-bust money."

"The confiscated pieces of dangerous drug evidence have an estimated total weight of more or less 405 grams and estimated Dangerous Drugs Board street value of P 2,754,000," the MPD said.

"The confiscated dangerous drug evidence was forwarded to MPD - Crime Laboratory Office for qualitative and quantitative examination," it added.

Bello is temporarily detained at Sta Ana Police Station's custodial facility for proper disposition and will be charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11 Art II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

National Capital Region Director Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas commended the personnel  of  Manila Police District -Sta Ana Police Station for the successful operation.

"I congratulate the operatives of Sta. Ana Police Station for busting two million (pesos) worth of shabu within their area of responsibility," he said. Robina Asido/DMS
