Duque urges smokers to quit
May 30, 2019
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III urged smokers anew to quit, he said in his Twitter account (@SecDuque) on Thursday.
"I know it can be hard to quit smoking, but the first step is to make the decision to start," said Duque
"31 May is #WorldNoTobaccoDay. But I pledge to make everyday #NoTobacco Day," he added.
Duque said quitting smoking will help individuals avoid smoking-related illnesses.
He added non-smokers may be affected.
"Reminder to smokers: It is not just you that can inhale the smoke but also those around you," said Duque.
Duque said smokers who want to quit can call the DOH Quitline, a phone- and mobile-centered support service, at 165364. DMS
