The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said President Rodrigo Duterte approved the promotion of 27 police officers, including the directors of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
In a statement, Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson said Duterte has approved the promotion of Police Brigadier General Joel Napoleon Coronel, CIDG director and Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas, NCRPO director to the rank of Police Major General, along with seven other officials to the rank of Police Brigadier General .
Promoted to Police Brigadier General were PBGen Alessandro Abella from Women Children Protection Center, Director for Investigation and Detective Management ( DIDM); PBGen Romeo Caramat Jr from PNP-DEG; PBGen Flynn Dongbo from DIDM; PBGen Rommil Mitra from Fire and Explosives Ordinance (FEO), Civil Service Group (CSG); PBGen Daniel Mayoni Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management (DICTM); PBGen Prexy Tanggawohn from Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), Office of the chief PNP; and PBGen Baltazar Israel from Internal Affairs Service (IAS).
“Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa said the promotion of senior officials were prompted by the retirement this year of some police generals occupying key positions in national and regional units,” Banac said.
Gamboa also formalized the promotion of 18 senior officers to the rank of police colonel.
Gamboa led the oath-taking and donning of ranks ceremony Tuesday at Camp Crame.
He reminded all senior officials and unit commanders to add more teeth in enforcing campaign against corruption and crimes against public morals, particularly illegal gambling.
“Their performance along these campaigns will weigh heavily in the succeeding rounds of individual performance evaluation to determine their competence to continue leading their respective units,” Gamboa said.
The PNP chief reiterated that “One-Strike policy” will strictly apply to unit commanders who will fail to curb illegal activities involving police personnel in their areas of responsibility. Ella Dionisio/DMS
