Duterte condemns mass stabbing in Japan

President Rodrigo Duterte extended on Wednesday the Philippines' deepest sympathies for the victims and the families of those who perished in a mass stabbing incident in Kawasaki, Japan.
"I express my profound shock and grief over the mass stabbing incident which regretfully happened in Kawasaki," said Duterte in a statement.
He expressed outrage over the brutal attack of innocent children.
"On behalf of the Filipino people, I extend my sincere prayers for the victims and our deepest sympathies to their families who need solace and strength in this difficult time," the President said.
He expressed support to the Japanese government as it endeavors to bring justice to the victims of the "horrific" incident.
A man on his 50's armed with knives attacked schoolchildren who were waiting for a school bus in Kawasaki on Tuesday. Sixteen were wounded while two died, including an 11-year old girl and 39-year old man.
The suspect who stabbed himself after the attack also died.
