Duterte declares August 12 as national holiday

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday declared August 12 as regular holiday in observance of the Eid'l Adha or Feast of Sacrifice.
The declaration was made after Duterte signed the Proclamation No. 789 which stated August 12 as a regular holiday nationwide.
"Now, therefore, I, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Monday, 12 August 2019, a regular holiday throughout the city, in observance of Eid'l Adha," the proclamation read.
