Duterte gets 85% trust, approval ratings: Pulse Asia

President Rodrigo Duterte received highest trust and approval ratings among Philippines' leading government officials, Pulse Asia said Wednesday.
In its Ulat ng Bayan national survey on performance and trust ratings of the top Philippine government officials, Duterte, Vice President Leni Robredo, and Senate President Vicente Sotto III had high approval and trust ratings while House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Supreme Court Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin got lower percentages.
Duterte received 85 percent approval rating and 85 percent trust rating among Filipinos.
''The movements in the performance and trust ratings of President Duterte during the period March to June 2019 are marginal in nature, both at the national level and in the different geographic and socio-economic classes,'' said Pulse Asia.
Pulse Asia conducted the survey from June 24 to 30 using face-to-face interviews. It had a total sample of 1,200 representatives, aged 18 years old and above.
Duterte had approval ratings in Mindanao with 91 percent followed by Visayas with 90 percent, Luzon with 82 percent, and NCR with 81 percent. Among income classes, those in Class E and D gave him 87 percent and 85 percent performance rating while 82 percent came from Class ABC.
Duterte garnered highest trust ratings from Mindanao with 91 percent, 89 in Visayas, 83 in NCR, and 81 in Luzon. Class D and E also gave 86 and 85 percent trust ratings while Class ABC gave 80 percent.
Robredo had an overall 55 percent performance rating and 52 percent trust rating. Her highest approval ratings came from Visayas with 66 percent and from income classes E and D with 60 and 54 percent, respectively.
Robredo had high trust ratings from Mindanao and Visayas with 91 and 89 percent. Income classes D and E gave her 86 and 85 trust ratings.
Sotto had 77 percent approval and 73 percent nationwide ratings. Most of his approval ratings were from Luzon with 87 percent and income classes D and E with 78 and 75 percent.
Sotto also got highest trust ratings in Luzon with 85 percent and 75 percent among those in Class D.
The survey showed about 41 percent were either appreciative or undecided about Bersamin.
Most of his approval ratings came from Visayas and Class E with 57 and 46 percent respectively while 53 percent in NCR and 55 percent among Class ABC said they were undecided.
A total of 48 percent said respondents were undecided about Bersamin, with highest response from Luzon and NCR with 52 and 51 percent. Income class ABC also gave him the highest undecided vote with 60 percent.
Arroyo had the lowest approval rating of 26 percent. The highest disapproval votes came from NCR with 53 and 52 percent. Income classes D and E also gave high disapproval ratings with 49 and 42 percent.
Arroyo garnered the lowest trust rating with only 22 percent. She had highest distrust rates in NCR and Luzon with 56 and 54 percent. Respondents in income Class D also gave her a distrust rating of 51 percent. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
