Duterte just wants to sleep at home, to be with kids, grandchildren on 74th birthday

President Rodrigo Duterte wants a quiet celebration of his 74th birthday on Thursday.

In a speech in Koronadal City where he graced the campaign rally of the senatorial bets of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban, the President said he just wants to spend his birthday on March 28 at his home in Davao City.

"Historically, I don't want to celebrate my birthday. I just want to be at home and sleep," he said.

"And if there's somebody that is really welcome to me, these are my children and grandchildren," Duterte said.

Duterte has four children - Veronica "Kitty" Duterte with his common law wife Cielito "Honeylet" Avancena, and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo

Duterte, and Sebastian Duterte with his former wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman.

Duterte said he did not mind if Avancena and Zimmerman would not be there during his birthday.

"It's okay even if my wives would ignore me," he said. Celerina Monte/DMS
