Duterte names ex-military general to MWSS board
June 4, 2019
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed retired Army general Ricardo Morales as member of the board of trustees of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System.
Morales replaced MWSS administrator and board of trustees vice chairman Reynaldo Velasco, a former deputy director general of the Philippine National Police.
Morales' appointment was signed on May 27 and he would serve the unexpired term of office that began on July 1, 2018 and will end on June 30, 2019.
Late last month, Duterte announced that he tapped Morales as chairman of MWSS.
Duterte earlier warned to remove the MWSS officials after parts of Metro Manila and nearby areas suffered a severe water shortage in March.
At the same time, Duterte appointed Allen Capuyan as chairperson of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples. Celerina Monte/DMS
