Duterte names new PSG chief

President Rodrigo Duterte has named a new chief for the Presidential Security Group (PSG).
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, in a text message to reporters, said that Colonel Jesus Durante III will replace Brig. Gen. Jose Eriel Niembra.
The change of command to be witnessed by Duterte is set on Tuesday afternoon at the PSG Compound in Malacanang Complex.
Prior to his new post, Durate was commanding officer of the Presidential Escort under PSG.
Durante, an Army Scout Ranger, is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Batch 1992.
He took up his Master of Science in Defense Analysis at Naval Post Graduate School in the United States and Master in Public Management, Major in Development Security, at the Development Academy of the Philippines.
Niembra, on the other hand, would be assigned to the 701st Infantry Brigade in Davao Oriental. Celerina Monte/DMS
