Duterte skips some meetings in ASEAN
November 14, 2018
President Rodrigo Duterte skipped on Wednesday at least four meetings during the 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit in Singapore
But Duterte made it a point to participate in the ASEAN-China Summit, which was attended also by Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. instead represented Duterte in those events, which he failed to attend.
During the second day of the ASEAN Summit, Duterte skipped the ASEAN-Australia Informal Breakfast Summit, the ASEAN-Republic of Korea Summit, the working lunch with ASEAN leaders and guests, and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Summit.
Malacanang has not cited any reason Duterte did not attend those meetings. Celerina Monte/DMS
