Duterte to make side trip to UAE before returning from Russia
May 23, 2017
President Rodrigo Duterte will make a side trip to the United Arab Emirates before heading back to the Philippines from his Russian trip. This as Duterte has issued Special Order No. 460 constituting a Caretaker Committee during his "official visits" to Russia and UAE on May 22 to 29. In Duterte's schedule, after his activities in Russia on May 26, he would fly to Dubai, UAE. He is expected to return to Davao City on Monday afternoon. "To ensure continuity of government service, it is necessary to constitute a Caretaker Committee which will take care of the day-to-day operations in the Office of the President and oversee the general administration of the Executive Department," the Order, signed on May 22, but only released to media on Tuesday, said. The committee is composed of Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno, Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, Philippine National Police Deputy Director General Ramon Apolinario and Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Menardo Guevarra, in his capacity as acting executive secretary.
