Duterte to take three-day rest starting Tuesday
November 11, 2019
President Rodrigo Duterte is set to take a three-day rest starting on Tuesday, Malacañang said on Monday.
When Duterte takes a rest in Davao City, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said he might no longer need to take an official leave of absence.
While taking a rest, he said Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea could be the caretaker.
"It's just a rest. It's like a rest from his lots of work," said Panelo in a press briefing.
Duterte previously complained of unbearable pain on his pelvic area, which could be due to his fall from a motorcycle.
The health of the 74-year old Duterte has become an issue every now and then.
Panelo said Duterte will be taking a rest following the advice of many people.
"Well, upon the advice of friends, of colleagues in the world scene and most likely maybe upon the advice of the doctors also to take a respite from his punishing schedule," he said. Celerina Monte/DMS
