President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday urged Thailand's top business groups to engage in the government's "Build, Build, Build" program.
"I encourage Thai Beverage/TCC Group in the real estate and hotel business in the Philippines. I invite you to ride on the momentum of Philippine growth story, and invest especially in the new industrial destinations of Metro Manila, Pampanga, (Clark), Cebu, Bohol, and Davao," Duterte said in his remarks during a courtesy call of Thailand's top businessmen in Bangkok.
"The Philippines’ Build, Build, Build is in full swing and you are all welcome to participate. We are making significant headway in transforming the Philippines into a more stable and secure place for investments," he added.
Duterte commended the investments made by the Charoen Pokphand Group and Erawan Group, specifically in the Philippines' food, real estate and hotel operations industry.
The Charoen Pokphand Group is Thailand's largest conglomerate based in Bangkok.
Its businesses focuses on agribusiness and food retail and distribution. Erawan Group operates hotels and other business establishments.
Duterte also noted the uptrend in the country's economic indicators.
"With our sound macro-economic policies and ongoing reforms, we guarantee a competitive and corruption-free business climate and a highly-skilled and fast-learning workforce," he told the Thai CEOs. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
