Duterte visits typhoon-hit Albay, assures aid
November 2, 2020
President Rodrigo Duterte visited on Monday afternoon typhoon-stricken Albay and met with residents there.
This was seen from the photos shared to the reporters by Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, who accompanied Duterte in his inspection in Bicol Region.
Go, in a separate statement, said Duterte met with residents of Guinobtan, Albay who were severely affected by Super Typhoon "Rolly" on Sunday.
He said Duterte ordered the concerned government agencies to conduct an investigation over the alleged quarrying operations in the area following complaints of the residents.
Duterte also directed the government agencies to immediately conduct recovery efforts, to ensure that critical services are restored, and immediate aid is delivered to the communities.
Duterte is expected to return to Manila and preside a meeting with the Cabinet officials to discuss the measures following the typhoon. Celerina Monte/DMS
