President Rodrigo Duterte warned on Monday that more alleged erring government officials would face prosecution and could land in jail.

Duterte issued the warning as he read during a televised meeting with the Cabinet officials some officials and employees of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Bureau of Customs, and Bureau of Immigration who are either suspended for six months by the Office of the Ombudsman amid its investigation or those whom he would summon to Malacanang.

He vowed to release the names of other officials who would be investigated or suspended by December.

"The next round will be by December. Many will lose their jobs. Many will be separated...many will face prosecution and many will go to jail," he said.

Duterte reiterated his promise that in the remaining two years of his term, he would focus on fighting corruption in government.
