Duterte witnesses condemnation of P34.7m smuggled vehicles

President Rodrigo Duterte witnessed  the destruction of P34.7 million worth of smuggled vehicles in Manila.

Some 122 vehicles, mostly scooters, were destroyed in South Harbor, Port Area, Manila and in the Port of Cebu in Cebu City.

The vehicles, which were bulldozed in Manila port include 112 units of brand new Vespa scooters, one used BMW motorcycle, one Harley Davidson motorcycle, two Triumph motorcycles, one Mitsubishi Pajero, two Land Rovers, and one Volvo car.

Also destroyed in Cebu were two units of used 2002 and 2005 Ford Ecoline E350.

Last March, Duterte also witnessed the destruction of 14 smuggled vehicles worth P27 million in Cagayan.

Simultaneous wrecking of smuggled vehicles worth P61 million also took place last February in the ports of Manila, Davao and Cebu. Celerina Monte/DMS
