Duterte’s foreign trips suspended amid COVID-19 outbreak – PSG
March 12, 2020
President Rodrigo Duterte would not travel abroad, especially in countries with confirmed cases of coronavirus disease, the Presidential Security Group said on Thursday.
The PSG, on its Facebook page, said this was the recommendation of the Department of Health (DOH).
"For now, all PRRD's ( President Rodrigo Roa Duterte) foreign travels, especially to those countries with confirmed cases of COVID-19, have been suspended as recommended by DOH," the PSG said.
Duterte earlier said he wants to push through with his trip to Kuwait in relation to the welfare of the overseas Filipino workers.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo has said Duterte might get a special arrangement with the Kuwaiti government if he would proceed with his foreign trip despite the COVID-19 outbreak. Celerina Monte/DMS
