EDSA People Power I celebrations set Monday

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) with the EDSA People Power Commission (EPPC), Spirit of EDSA Foundation (SOEF) and other national and local government agencies will lead the commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of the 1986 People Power Revolution on February 25, 8 am., at the EDSA People Power Monument, Quezon City.
Flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies will be led by Department of Education Undersecretary Lorna Dig-Dino as the event’s guest of honor.
She will be joined by former President Fidel Ramos, NHCP and EPPC chairman Rene Escalante, and NHCP acting executive director Ludovico Badoy.
Highlights of the program will be special messages of Reli German, (representing the civilian sector), Sister Sara Manopol, (representing the religious sector), and retired Gen. Antonio Sotelo, (representing the military sector); conferment of the Freedom Awards to Cecile Guidote-Alvarez, Maan Hontiveros, and Sonny Camarillo; and the Spirit of EDSA and Good Citizenship Movement Award to Mercy Abad representing AKKAP Ka and Fr. Benigno Beltran, SVD. DMS
