Eleven students from the Kanazawa University (KU) in Japan received their international student internship completion certificates during ceremonies at the Ifugao State University (IFSU) Thursday last week.
This internship is part of a five-year memorandum of understanding between KU and IFSU.
The 11 KU students were deployed in the heritage towns of Hungduan and Kiangan, Ifugao for cultural exchange.
The Japanese students were able to experience the daily life in the Ifugao Rice Terraces with their host families.
They also participated in some of the indigenous songs and games.
The Japanese students shared their culture with their host communities and school children in Hungduan and Kiangan.
Regina Guimpatan of IFSU Hapao said, the internship program is great opportunity for both universities to showcase and appreciate the richness of both cultures and an avenue for learning among students and their host communities.
IFSU President Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon during the ceremony said that, “We are grateful to you for choosing IFSU to have your international internship. IFSU is also working hard to send some of our students and faculty for international internship and research collboration with KU.”
This is the third international internship program done at IFSU in collaboration with KU. DMS
