Eusebio’s mayoral reign in Pasig ends

Victor Maria Regis "Vico" Nubla-Sotto dislodged incumbent Mayor Robert "Bobby" Eusebio in the mayoral race for Pasig City.
Sotto, who garnered a total of 206,751 votes ended the Eusebio clan's 27-year reign in the city. He was proclaimed as Pasig's new mayor Tuesday afternoon by the City Board of Canvassers.
Eusebio failed in his attempt for a second term with 119,933 votes. His family has been running the city since 1992.
The lone candidate for the seat of city's vice mayor, Iyo Carunco Bernardo, got 269,610 votes.
Sotto's running-mate, Roman Romulo, also defeated a Eusebio as representative of the city's lone district in the Congress.
Romulo gained 224,311 votes while Richard Eusebio had 98,138 overall votes.
