”Falcon” leaves Philippine Area of Responsibility

July 18, 2019

Tropical Storm ''Falcon'' on Thursday left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

In Pagasa's final severe weather bulletin at 5 pm, the tropical storm was tracked outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Falcon's center was last seen at 665 kilometers north-northeast of Basco Batanes. It had maximum winds of up to 80 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour.

The tropical storm is moving north at 25 kilometers per hour towards Japan.

All tropical cyclone wind signals were lifted.

However, moderate to at times heavy rains are expected over Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan. Light to moderate rains will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take precautions and urged to coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices in case of landslides and floods.

The weather bureau announced sea travel is still risky over seaboards of Luzon.

Pagasa also reported a low pressure area was detected at 310 kilometers west northwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

The weather bureau said it may develop into a tropical depression within 36 hours. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
