August 27, 2019
Damage to agriculture caused by Typhoon ''Ineng'' reached P166 million, Agriculture Secretary William Dar said on Tuesday.
"The agricultural damages as of yesterday when we were in Ilocos Norte reached P166 million," Dar said in a press conference.
Dar said the figure includes total damages in crops, and livestock.
He said the Department of Agriculture (DA) will provide loans to affected farmers in the Ilocos Region.
"With Ilocos Norte having been declared under state of calamity due to Typhoon Ineng, the Department of Agriculture is ready to provide emergency financial assistance under the Survival and Recovery assistance program -- granting P25,000 at zero-interest, payable up to three years," Dar said in a Facebook post last Sunday.
