Fire guts down Gabaldon-designed school in Lucena City

After Typhoon ''Tisoy'' hit Quezon province, a fire struck at an old elementary school in Lucena City on Tuesday night. 

The Lucena City Police Station said a Gabaldon-designed building inside Lucena West 1 Elementary School located Old Maharlika Highway, Barangay Ilayang Iyam, Lucena City was gutted by fire around 7:25 pm.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze around 9:25pm.

Bureau of Fire and Protection- Lucena estimated P8 million worth of property were damaged.

Authorities said the building was undergoing renovation.

Investigation is still ongoing on the cause of the fire.  Ella Dionisio/DMS
