March 4, 2019
Around P200,000 worth of properties went up in smoke after fire razed a warehouse in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on Monday.
Col. Noel Detoyato, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Public Affairs chief, said based on initial report the fire at the Property Reutilization and Disposal Division (PRDD) supply unit started around 2:36 pm.
“The two fire teams of CAFS ( Camp Aguinaldo Fire Station) immediately responded to the incident, and also called up the BFP ( Bureau of Fire Protection) and fire brigade volunteers to respond at the fire scene,” he said.
“More or less 20 additional fire trucks from Bureau of Fire Protection and fire brigade volunteers arrived and suppressed the fire,” he added.
Detoyato said the fire reached first alarm before it was put out at 3:29 pm of the same day.
“Cause of fire is still under investigation but initially before the fire there was a spark seen by from the stock pile of turned-in equipment/properties near the PRDD office,” he said. Robina Asido/DMS
