Five bodies, two skeletons found along Marcos Highway

BAGUIO CITY  --  Five decomposing bodies and two skeletons were found in a grassy area along Marcos Highway in Tuba, La Union while another cadaver was discovered on Thursday, authorities said.

Police said the cadavers were believed to be dumped about two weeks ago,  while the two skeletons may have been there for over a month.

Residents noticed the stench Wednesday, prompting them to seek the police.

Tuba police chief Major James Acod said persons were looking for   relatives from Ifugao, though he added it is early to conclude they were victims of summary execution.

Benguet police director, Col. Elmer Ragay, could not issue any statement pending deeper investigation of the cadavers and skeletons. DMS
