Focus more on high-value drug targets, new NCRPO boss says

October 25, 2019

The acting director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday urged his police officers to focus more on operating against high value targets instead of small-time pushers.

“My guidance to the police is if possible, I’m not telling them to not operate (but) let’s go higher,” said Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas in a press briefing.

Sinas cited the latest accomplishment of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) who seized around P1.3 million from two alleged drug suspects.

“You will know they are working when their arrest are like this,” he said

“If they only arrested small value (targets) then why are their accomplishments only like that?” he asked.

He hoped his men will operate on big drug suspects rather than those with only less than one gram.

“You always operate there so what is going on (in that area)? Why can’t you arrest (the source of illegal drugs) unless otherwise something is going there?” said Sinas.

He said they are developing projects to enhance their anti-drug operations. Ella Dionisio/DMS
