Four arrested, P3.4m worth of shabu in Quezon City

Authorities arrested four suspects and seized around P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in an apartelle at Quezon City Thursday morning.
Joint elements from National Capital Region Police Office and Quezon City Police District, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the operation around 2:30 am inside Super Savers Hotel along E Rodriguez Ave., Brgy Dona Imelda in Quezon City.
Authorities said the buy-bust operation was hatched where the poseur-buyer was able to buy P500, 000 worth of shabu.
Four people were arrested, including their target, Joshua Salazar alias Kalbo, who denied his involvement. .
Upon apprehension, operatives yielded a total of 520 grams of shabu with street value of P3,455,000.00.
Arrested suspects were identified as couriers of illegal drugs in Metro Manila and other neighboring cities and provinces.
“We believe that with the arrest of the suspects, their transaction in this area is cut. We still conducting follow up investigation so that we can study where this drugs came from and being deliver to and appropriate police operation will be done,” NCR Police Director Guillermo Eleazar said.
He said information regarding the illegal activities came from a concerned citizen through an asset.
“Different groups will try to make ways to not be arrested. We saw that syndicates have lots of ways not be arrested but with the cooperation of the informants, we were able to conduct operation to caught them,” Eleazar said.
The suspects will be referred for inquest proceedings for violation of RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act Of 2002. Ella Dionisio/DMS
