Four suspected robbers killed, 139 arrested in one-day Laguna police operations

Four suspected robbers were killed while 139 were arrested in a one-day simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operations by the Laguna Police Provincial Office.
Police Colonel Eleazar Matta, the Laguna provincial director, said these were conducted from April 24 to 25, applying buy-bust operations, implementation of search warrants against illegal drugs and loose firearms, service of warrants of arrest, and operations against loose firearms.
Of the 74 anti-illegal drugs operations, 67 were apprehended in buy busts, six were apprehended in the implementation of search warrants, and 20 were apprehended in other police tasks
Matta said they also nabbed 17 suspects from their nine operations against illegal gambling and 29 most wanted and wanted persons.
He said authorities confiscated five firearms from two buy-bust operation and undertook hot pursuit of alleged robbers which resulted in an armed encounter where four suspects died.
They turned over 13 minors to Department of Social Welfare and Development for proper disposition.
