Gambling not allowed during wakes and fiestas: NCRPO
February 10, 2020
Gambling during wakes and fiestas in Metro Manila are prohibited, the National Capital Region Police Office ( NCRPO) said Monday.
Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), announced this in a press conference at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
Sinas said he informed mayors and local officials about his order.
Sinas said police will warn relatives gambling is prohibited but if they persist, cops will conduct a raid.
''We will ask them first but if they refuse to follow, we will conduct a raid so people cannot say there is no consideration,” he said.
Sinas' order came as Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa ordered tougher anti-gambling operations.
Seven police community precinct commanders and an acting station commander were relieved from their posts last week for failing to curb illegal gambling in their areas. DMS
