Gun owners whose licenses, permits lapse will not be penalized during quarantine: PNP
March 19, 2020
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday said they will not penalized gun owners whose licenses and permits will expire during the one-month enhanced community quarantine period.
In a radio interview, Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa said some services offered by the PNP can be set aside during this time as mandated by the interagency task force (IATF).
“The interagency mandated to have skeletal forces even on frontline services of PNP. So we will not fault you if you will not immediately renew your documents especially firearms license or even the license to own and operate (LTOP),” said the PNP chief.
“So if you fall on these dates, we will not fault you and we will not give you penalties even on security agencies,” he added.
Gamboa said he signed the order.
“I hope it will be disseminated to the public so that they will know,” Gamboa said.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) also announced they will waive penalties for all late renewals of driver's license and vehicle registration during the enhanced community quarantine in entire Luzon island. Ella Dionisio/DMS
