Gunshots heard during canvassing at Zamboanga del Norte municipality

Gunshots were heard during canvassing at a municipal hall in Zamboanga del Sur Thursday evening

In a police report, the incident happened around 11 pm at Purok 5, Brgy Kagawasan in Dimataling when bursts of gunfire were heard perpetrated by around six unidentified suspects.

Authorities said suspects were wearing masks and positioned themselves at the corner of the municipal canteen before firing at the electric transformer.

The suspects withdrew towards Barangay Sugbay Uno in Dimataling.

Recovered from the crime scene were fired cartridge shells, live ammo, and one pair of white shoes. Ella Dionisio/DMS
