Indonesian Army officials visits Philippine Army headquarters

An Indonesian Army official visited the Philippine Army headquarters in Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City on Monday.
Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala, Philippine Army spokesman the visit is part of the two country’s efforts to strengthen the ties between the two army forces.
"During the courtesy call, Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Reynaldo Aquino and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Security of the Tentra National Indonesia, Angkatan Darat Brig. Gen. Djaka Budi Utama discussed both armies’ future cooperation in order to prepare its respective forces against evolving threats in their respective regions," he said.
"The two parties reiterated the importance of training exchanges and other bilateral activities to gain additional military skills as well as to boost Filipino-Indonesian camaraderie," he added.
Zagala said the Philippine Army expressed its interest in acquiring military supplies from the Indonesian Army.
"It also offered to share its logistics best practices learned during the Battle of Marawi and other subject matter exchanges," he said.
"On the other hand, the Indonesian Army is looking forward to PA’s participation in the coming ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet 2019 to be held in their country," he added.
“Strengthening our relationship with other military counterparts is essential in learning new capabilities that will capacitate our troops in addressing internal and external threats,” Zagala said. Robina Asido/DMS
