It’s not PNP’s duty to identify flying voters: Albayalde
January 24, 2019
Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Oscar Albayalde on Thursday said it’s the Commission on Elections (Comelec) duty to identify who were flying voters during the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite last January 21.
In a TV interview, Albayalde said: “Remember, our part there is maintenance of peace and order. Law enforcement basically, the security forces. When it comes to vote shaving, vote buying and these flying voters it should be the Comelec.”
About the grenade blast in Cotabato City on Sunday, he said it is not related to the plebiscite.
Residents of Cotabato City Tuesday night voted to support the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) even as a ”discrepancy” was noted in the total number of registered voters and total number of voters during the plebiscite for the BOL. Ella Dionisio/DMS
