JAL plane runs off taxiway at Narita Airport

Narita, Chiba Pref.--A Japan Airlines <9201> passenger plane ran off a taxiway at Narita International Airport near Tokyo after landing on Friday, leaving one of its runways closed.
There have been no reports of injury among 201 passengers and crew members aboard the Boeing 787 aircraft, which touched down around 6:50 a.m. (9:50 p.m. Thursday GMT) after a flight from Delhi, according to the transport ministry.
The taxiway surface may have been icy, informed sources said. In addition, there is a possibility that the plane did not slow down enough, the sources said.
While the plane being stranded on the taxiway, the passengers were taken to the terminal building by bus.
Due to the shutdown of Runway A, a Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur was rerouted to Kansai International Airport in the western Japan prefecture of Osaka. Jiji Press
