Japan sends sympathy to France over Notre Dame fire

Tokyo--Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga on Tuesday expressed his sympathy for the French people, including President Emmanuel Macron, over the blaze at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
"It's a loss to the world, and my heart is grieving," said Suga at a press conference.
About the cathedral's restoration, Suga said, "The Japanese government will give consideration if any request for assistance is made by the French government." Jiji Press
