Japan to Give 3.1 B. Yen for Rwanda Water Services

Tokyo--Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Tuesday agreed with Rwandan President Paul Kagame to provide up to 3,191 million yen in aid to help the African country build water supply facilities.
During their meeting at the prime minister's office in Tokyo, the two leaders confirmed cooperation ahead of the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development, or TICAD VII, to be held in August in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, south of Tokyo.
Abe and Kagame agreed on stronger Japanese assistance in such fields as agricultural and human resources development and expansion in bilateral trade and investments.
Also confirmed was bilateral cooperation toward U.N. Security Council reforms.
Furthermore, Abe exchanged views with Kagame, who chairs the African Union, on how to strengthen Japan-AU relations. Jiji Press
