A Japanese was found dead in his hotel room in Talisay City, Cebu Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Talisay City police investigator PO1 Kim John Amolo said they found the Japanese at the comfort room door at GV Hotel in Barangay Tabunok.
Amolo said a hotel housekeeper told the front desk officer to seek assistance from the Talisay City police station.
He said the housekeeper knocked on the Japanese’s room to ask if he is extending his stay but did not receive a response.
Hotel management called the Japanese embassy. The victim’s body was brought to a funeral home.
Amolo said the live-in partner of the Japanese said he was experiencing depression after his passport and credit cards expired. ''There are no signs of foul play but we still have to check the autopsy,” he said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
