KMU should answer allegations of links to CPP instead of name calling: PNP
May 2, 2019
The Philippine National Police ( PNP) on Wednesday told Kilusang Mayo Uno to answer allegations of their alleged involvement with the Communist Party of the Philippines instead of resorting to name calling.
“Instead of resorting to name calling, why won’t they answer until now the allegations that they are front organization of the CPP/NPA as what ) CPP founding chairman Jose Maria) Sison himself said?” Police General Oscar Albayalde said in a statement.
Albayalde said the KMU's anti-government activities could scare away foreign investors resulting in loss of jobs.
“And why won't they tell the thousands of jobless Filipinos the reason why investors close shop in our country. They should stop exploiting our labor sector for their own personal interest! They are the reason why many Filipinos are jobless! It‘s not the government! I believe no government would ever want its citizens to suffer poverty!”, he added.
KMU, in its Labor Day message, called the police general “epal” (intervening on things/ affairs) and "sipsip" (obsequious) to President Rodrigo Duterte.
The PNP said they will continue to protect the rights and welfare of Filipino workers by ensuring a peaceful environment conducive for locals and foreigners to do business. Ella Dionisio/DMS
