La Mesa Dam level hits new low of 68.85 meters for the year: Pagasa
March 12, 2019
La Mesa Dam reached a new record low level for 2019 with 68.85 meters as of Tuesday morning based on data from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa's data showed that La Mesa Dam is 11.30 meters below its normal level of 80.15.
The dam's continuous decrease of water levels has caused shortage of water supply in areas serviced by water concessionaires Manila Water and Maynilad.
Manila Water on Tuesday said the downward trend in La Mesa Dam's water level will cause further supply interruptions until summer. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
